Voyeur / Samba & Love
Voyeur / Samba & Love is a double-bill that delivers a bold and emotionally charged evening of contemporary dance by Brazilian choreographer Lili de Grammont. Set to a powerful original score by film composer Ed Côrtes — blending cinematic textures with the richness of Brazilian music — both works explore intimacy, desire, and emotional burnout. Voyeur draws the audience into a world of exposed privacy, while Samba & Love transforms exhaustion into movement, inspired by the iconic voice of Chico Buarque. Visually poetic and sonically vibrant, this double bill bridges dance and music in a deeply moving experience.
Touring Notes
In addition to Voyeur / Samba & Love, our company offers a repertoire of contemporary dance works, including productions created specifically for young audiences. These family-friendly performances incorporate Brazilian music, vibrant movement, and playful dramaturgy, making them suitable for schools, festivals, and theatres seeking engaging cultural programming for children and teenagers. The double bill presented at the Fringe is technically adaptable and logistically light. The set consists of only five chairs and one small table, which can be sourced or rented locally, depending on the venue. The lighting plan is flexible and can be adapted to most stage configurations, making the production ideal for touring across a variety of contexts. Our team is experienced with national and international touring and open to dialogue with presenters and programmers to ensure smooth integration into different venues and cultural settings. We also welcome opportunities to offer workshops and audience engagement activities alongside performances. We aim to create not just shows, but meaningful artistic exchanges. Our work carries the rhythms, questions, and poetics of Brazil — and we’re excited to share this with diverse audiences around the world.
Previous Touring Experience
As a dancer with Balé da Cidade de São Paulo, Lili de Grammont has toured Germany, France, and Switzerland through Ecotopia Dance Productions (Meinrad Huber & Claudia Bauer). As a choreographer, Voyeur was performed at Prisma Festival (Panama) and now at Fringe. In Brazil, we present around 30 shows per year nationally.
Notes for Screen Development
We are very interested in exploring screen development opportunities for Voyeur / Samba & Love, particularly through dance film adaptations. Both pieces are structured with strong visual language, musical dramaturgy, and emotionally resonant movement, which makes them highly adaptable for screen formats. We see great potential for developing a dance film inspired by this material, expanding its impact beyond the stage and reaching new audiences globally. In addition to working as a choreographer, Lili de Grammont has professional experience in screen production. She was the movement director and choreographer for the Brazilian feature film Meu Sangue Ferve por Você (Mar Filmes), currently streaming on Netflix. This experience reinforced her passion for the intersection between dance and cinema, and strengthened her ability to translate movement for the screen. Voyeur carries an introspective and cinematic tone, ideal for visual storytelling, while Samba & Love blends realism and lyricism through the music of Chico Buarque and Ed Côrtes’ original score. We are open to co-development partnerships with producers, platforms, or institutions interested in creating screen versions of this work, or collaborating on new creations inspired by it.
Any other ways this work could be shared with presenting partners and audiences
In addition to stage performances, our work can be shared through dance film screenings, artist talks, audience engagement sessions, and movement-based workshops. We are particularly interested in creating spaces for dialogue around the themes explored in Voyeur / Samba & Love, such as intimacy, emotional burnout, and the role of the observer — topics that resonate deeply with contemporary audiences. We offer workshops for both dancers and non-dancers, focusing on body awareness, choreographic tools, and creative expression rooted in Latin American physicality and musicality. These workshops can be tailored to professionals, students, or community groups, and may be delivered in English, Portuguese or with translation. We are also open to lecture-performances and participatory formats that integrate performance with reflection, especially in educational or institutional settings. In previous contexts, this approach has deepened audience understanding and built meaningful bridges between performers and the public. Finally, our visually adaptable scenography and compact technical requirements make the production ideal for non-traditional venues and touring festivals with limited infrastructure. We welcome invitations for residencies, co-productions, and multidisciplinary programming that values movement, sound, and poetic presence.
